“Cops on Doughnut Shops” is an annual fundraiser hosted by Krispy Kreme and the Law Enforcement Torch Run. Law Enforcement personnel from around the state sit on top of each of Oklahoma’s three Krispy Kreme stores raising money and awareness for Special Olympics Oklahoma. Volunteers from law enforcement agencies take donations and thank community members for their support. Krispy Kreme graciously provides incentives such as free doughnuts, coffee and T-shirts for donations.

In 2007, the event raised $27,000. Agencies who participated in the 2007 event were:

Midwest City Police Department
Oklahoma High Patrol
Oklahoma City Police Department
Tinker Air Force Base
Department of Corrections
Moore Police Department
Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office
Nichols Hills Police Department
Edmond Police Department
Broken Arrow Police Department
Tulsa Police Department
Catoosa Police Deparment
Owasso Police Department
Sand Springs Police Department
Glenpool Police Department
Tulsa County Sheriff's Office
Tulsa County Court Services

The three-day event has turned into a weekend full of fun for the entire family. Some activities planned at various locations are patrol cars, motorcycles, armored vehicles, Mobile Command Centers, mounted patrols, Beat the Heat police cars, rollover simulators, police robots and many others cool law enforcement gadgets. Kids can walk away with coloring books, trading cards, stickers, tattoos and balloons.
