We are calling all brave men and women for our 6th annual Polar Bear Plunge! We are excited to announce that there will be three Polar Plunge locations this year: The Bass Pro Shop Outdoor World in Oklahoma City and Tulsa and the Arrowhead-Thunderbird Resort on the Illinois River in Tahlequah! You can pick the location nearest to you and be a part of this statewide event.

To participate, you must collect a "bear" minimum of $25. You can register online and set up your own personal fundraising webpage or download a registration form. We hope to see you in February!

What if I don't want to get wet?
So you don't want to get wet? Then form a team of 10 to compete in a tug of war contest across the Broken Arrow Bass Pro Shop pond or the Illinois River. Only the strong will stay dry. Each tugger is responsible for raising at least $25. Law Enforcement Agencies, Fire Departments, Power lifters and bodybuilders, private companies, colleges and the local community are all welcome to participate. The winning teams will have bragging rights for a year and the Broken ARrow winners will be listed on the Gold Cup showcased inside Bass Pro Shop.

What is a Polar Plunge?
A Polar Plunge is a fundraising challenge made to an individual or group challenging them to dive into a cold body of water in order to raise money for Special Olympics. Each participant collects pledges from family, friends and businesses in the hopes of raising lots of money for the local Program. Then, on a select day, they "take the plunge" in the cold water to benefit Special Olympics.

The Polar Plunge is a very popular special event among Law Enforcement Torch Run volunteers across the country. Approximately 24 Polar Plunges take place every year in 15 U.S. states, helping to raise millions of dollars for Special Olympics Programs. In 2006, Polar Plunge participants raised over $11,000 for Special Olympics Oklahoma!
