For Immediate Release Cops Collect Money while sitting on Krispy Kreme Roofs Officers will raise funds and awareness atop Krispy Kreme stores Tulsa, OK –Police lights flashing, cars stopping, officers pleading…is it the making of a cops and robbers movie? Not likely, but it is all part of an elaborate scheme to draw attention to a good cause. It is all in good fun as cops from 20 agencies across Oklahoma converge on the roofs of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts for the 4th Annual Cops on Doughnut Shops event benefiting Special Olympics Oklahoma. For three exciting days, October 20-22 cops will be dropping collection buckets from the roof, greeting patrons at the door, and introducing themselves at the drive-through in an effort to reach a goal of $40,000 for Special Olympics Oklahoma. Krispy Kreme Doughnuts generously supplies the locations and incentives for contributions. The kids love this event because they get to meet cops in a friendly setting and see first hand neat cop stuff including static displays of Beat The Heat Cars, Bomb Squad Trucks, and Police Command Centers; Mounted Police and Police Explorers. For the parents some beneficial services provided at various times throughout the weekend include child car seat checks and fingerprinting performed by officers. And, of course, Krispy Kreme’s doughnuts are always delicious! LOCATIONS include all three Oklahoma Krispy Kreme Doughnuts—two in Oklahoma City and one in Tulsa.
