17th Annual American Airlines Golf Tournament will benefit
Special Olympics Oklahoma

Tulsa.      The 17th Annual American Airlines Charity Golf Tournament, benefiting Special Olympics Oklahoma, will be Monday, October 9, 2006, at The Golf Club of Oklahoma, 20400 East 141st Street, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. The Tournament will have shotgun starts at 7:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
           
            “As in years past, we invite Special Olympics Oklahoma athletes to join us for this charity tournament,” said Chuck Davis, American Airlines Charity Golf chairman. “Throughout the golf tournament, Special Olympics Oklahoma athletes will tee-off or putt at the first or eighteenth hole for each foursome during the tournament," Davis said. “This is a very rewarding experience for everyone.”  The charity tournament began in 1990 as a way for American Airlines employees to show their commitment to the Tulsa community. Over the past 16 years, the tournament has raised more than $465,000 for Special Olympics Oklahoma and other worthwhile charities.

            There will be awards for ten team places and plenty of door prizes.  Significant prizes will be awarded for all par three holes-in-one. Tournament prizes include an automotive hole-in-one prize provided by Lexus of Tulsa and Primeaux Kia. Door Prizes include the following:  Rounds of golf at Cherokee Hills Golf Club, Mohawk Park Golf Course, Page Belcher Golf Course, Patricia Island Golf Course, South Lakes Golf Club, and Thousand Hills Golf Course; one night stays at Hilton Tulsa Southern Hills, Renaissance Hotel & Convention Center with breakfast for two; six month gym membership from Body Defined Fitness; and gift certificates from various businesses.
