Special Olympics Oklahoma, in collaboration with the Oklahoma Secondary Schools Athletic Association (OSSAA), initiated the Unified® league in 2019. The league allows Special Olympics athletes in High School the opportunity to play for a State Championship in esports and volleyball.

Unified® sports is a remarkable program that unites individuals without intellectual disabilities with Special Olympics athletes. They come together as teammates on the same playing field, where each member of the team makes a meaningful contribution to the game.

This Unified® league represents a significant milestone for many of the athletes, as it’s their inaugural opportunity to proudly represent their school on a prominent stage.

Sports serves as the transformative catalyst that can profoundly impact lives. As Unified partners and athletes join forces in pursuit of victory, they forge unbreakable bonds that will forever alter the course of their lives.

We would like to thank OSSAA (David Jackson, Amy Cassell and Wes Ruth) for partnering with SOOK in bringing a Unified State Championship to the state of Oklahoma.
